Straight Razor Head Shave in North Beach, San Francisco
$75.00 for a 30-minute session
Shaving your own head with a cartridge razor is a chore. Getting it done with a straight razor is a ritual. Hot towels to soften the skin, warm lather, and slow, careful blade work for a uniformly smooth scalp. It's the old school way to keep a shaved head clean, done by someone who can see the back of your head better than you can.

What to Expect
We start with hot towels to open things up and soften the hair, then work the lather in. The whole scalp comes down with a straight razor, with the grain first, then across where the skin allows, so it's close without being raw. We finish with a cool towel and a check under the lights, so you leave genuinely smooth, not "smooth until you touch it."
Does a head shave hurt?
No. The hot towels and proper lather do the prep work, and a straight razor in a trained hand is gentler on your scalp than a multi blade cartridge dragged over it at home. Most guys tell us it's the most relaxing thing they book. If your skin runs sensitive, say so and we'll take it slower and lighter.
How long the smoothness lasts
Genuinely smooth for a day or two, and clean looking for about a week, depending on how fast you grow. Most guys keeping a shaved head come in every one to three weeks. If you're between shaves and just need the edges and neck tidied, we can do that too.

First time getting it done?
Plenty of guys make the switch from a razor in the shower and never go back. We go slow, tell you what we're doing, and there's no pressure to book anything else. You tell us how you like it; we handle the parts you can't see.
Make it a combo
Pair the head shave with a beard trim and keep the whole look tight in one visit, or add a straight razor face shave for the full clean slate reset.
